Just a little story to brighten the day of any reticent or would be home exchangers.

I have been a fan of home exchanging for some years, but there have been various reasons why we have not yet managed to do one. However, we were
recently approached by a lovely couple from Canada who were looking to extend their holiday to our part of Ireland. We wanted to go to Canada but did not know when we would ever manage it. We agreed to move out of our home for the time that they would use our home, and ”bank” our holiday for the
foreseeable future, as I love our part of Ireland and would love to see more visitors here. Anyway, a few weeks after we had agreed, I got a letter in the
post to say that I had won 2 return flight tickets from my local airport to the airport nearest our home exchangers!!!!! (I had entered a competition). Yes, you have guessed it…. We are on our way to Canada in August for our first home exchange and really looking forward to it. I am getting to know my exchange partners via email, and I am sure that all concerned will have a great time.
